Electric field gradients at the 111In and 111mCd sites in undoped and Mg-doped LiNbO3

Abstract:

The quadrupole interaction of 111Cd in undoped (congruent) and Mg-doped LiNbO3 has been studied using the pertubed angular correlation technique after impalntation of 111In and 111mCd. A stepwise annealing procedure shows the lattice to be fully reconstructed at 773 K. Our results show that both In and Cd are in the Li position. Mg doping at 6 mol % does not have any effect on the lattice location of these impurities in LiNbO3.
